I have a little pet peeve. No. Not a little one. A HUGE pet peeve. I can not handle the little divas of today. I can not handle when I go into a store and see little girls throwing temper tantrums in the aisles and their tired mothers' give in to them to avoid a scene. Because with each "compromise" a girl realizes that she has control over her parents and that she can continue to throw a fit to get what she wants. I spend a lot of time hoping and praying that I am not that mother in one of those aisles. I can not handle the mentality that each girl is a princess who should get whatever she wants. The phrase "treat her like a princess" does not mean to give into her every whim, as most people think.
A few weeks ago when Munchkie and I walked into her classroom there was someone visiting who made a comment about Munchkie being such a little princess and recent events started to come together. I had seen this parent in the classroom several times and a few day prior to this Munchkie came home, found a blanket and put it on her head. She pranced around saying "I a pin-sess Mommy! I a pin-sess!" and I told her then "We don't have princess in this house, so take the blanket off your head or pretend something else." See, pretending to be a princess today is very different than pretending to be a princess when I was growing up. I used to pretend to have tea parties, I loved the Disney Princess movies and spent hours in my great grandmother's old heels wearing my mother's old dresses. However, the lessons I learned from the Disney Princesses were not lessons of being entitled and privileged but of overcoming difficult times- which everyone has, including princesses.
So today, when a nice Italian man said to Munchkie "oh aren't you a little princess" to which she energetically agreed, I refrained from stating the thoughts in my head. I wanted to shoot off that she was not a princess, we didn't believe in princesses, she has manners and respect for others around her. But I refrained and instead smiled, said "yeah she's a crazy" and kept walking. In my head I began to think about how I was going to combat this princess mentality. Because I will not have a diva with a princess mentality. I will continue to enforce manners, treating others with respect, and selflessness and hope that I can help form a beautiful girl who exemplifies these qualities..

MY Mama Never Said There'd Be Days Like This!
Well, at least if my mom did tell me there would be days like these, I didn't listen to her. To start, I am writing this at 2:09 am. I worked Friday night through Wednesday night with Monday night "off", which means that I spent at least part of the day sleeping for work, working or sleeping from work, Friday through Thursday and spent over 63 out of 133 hours at work. Ugh! Today I intentionally only allowed myself a few hours sleep in the hopes that I would be able to sleep tonight. Nice try!
While working so much there was absolutely no way that I could even fathom thinking up, making and cleaning up after a meal. I have never been so thankful for Chipotle in all of my life. I was able to "provide" a meal that was full of veggies, beans, and meat free of hormones or antibiotics. It was a delicious meal that fed us that night, then Munchkie and Munchkie's Daddy the next day for lunch as well.
I just don't ever think that I realized how tired a person could be. Emotionally and physically. All this work, prep for traveling to the in-laws this weekend, more work, traveling 17 hours to the family lakehouse, more work and then moving is a lot for one little family to handle! I just never expected my life to be like this. So busy all of the time that I can barely keep my head on straight, let alone do things that are enjoyable. On Tuesday when I woke up I took Munchkie to daycare, Munchkie's Daddy to work, came home, got a quick work out in, showered, dashed off to the dentist, came home, tried to sleep for a couple hours, got my dinner and Munchkie's lunch ready for the next day, laid her outfit out, while trying to have some quality time with the family at the same time as I was getting ready for work. Whew!
So how is it, that after this exhausting week I cannot fall asleep? How is this possible? Probably a lot of it has to do with the fact that when my head hits the pillow it starts running like crazy. Making lists for the store, making lists of things to pack for this weekend, making lists of things to pack for two weeks from now, figuring out what days I can get all of the laundry done, plotting out a Word document of all the things we need to measure at the new apartment next week, who I need to call to catch up with and meals I can put together or bring with me to keep eating healthy during these busy times.
Throughout this I am finding it even more important to deliberately spend time with my family. Something I thought just happened. I never realized that you have to specifically set aside time to spend with those you live with. Through all of this we are trying to make time to get a little movement in together. This actually works out beautifully, we go walking on paths by our house laughing, talking and playing together. We look for animals and identify different sounds we hear. Then we sit on the rock and watch for boats to go by before heading back watching out for rocks and roots. Taking this time in the quiet, peaceful outdoors has really showed me how great it is to spend time moving as a family, it makes those busy times just melt away for a little while.

Regression
I picked Munchkie up from daycare today and ended up staying for a little bit talking with her teacher. They document everything the children do from each minute they sleep, to each bite they take as well as every time they go to the bathroom. My poor Munchkie had wet herself at least 6 times, sometimes just minutes after sitting on the toilet. Yesterday morning by the time I woke up there was a pile of dirty wet clothes from her multiple accidents. This started happening last week after she would go an entire week without an accident.
It's amazing how much your own feelings can influence a child who doesn't even comprehend the feelings her parents are feeling. Right now I can not even comprehend all that is going on in our life. There have been way too many stressors and way too many tragedies in our lives lately. I feel like every time I log onto Facebook I see something else that adds to my prayer list and brings tears to my eyes. I don't understand why these things are happening to those I love, but I will continue to pray for the families of those going through difficult times.
I am also praying for peace and comfort to my own family. We are taking a several day hiatus from potty training, knowing that we will be traveling and celebrating the life of a close family member. We are hoping that upon our return we will be able to restore a happy, positive, peaceful environment to our home and begin the potty training process over again.
I am going to continue telling myself that regressions happen and it is not my fault that Munchkie is being influenced by the feelings of her parents. As a parent you want to protect your child from the negative things in life, but no matter how hard you try, they are touched by it. It kills me to know that my tears and my sadness are directly relating to her accidents, but I also want Munchkie to understand that emotions are not something to be hidden and covered up. I want to teach her that in difficult times we "pay to Sheshus (pray to Jesus)," in good times we "pay to Sheshus" and with his help, we can overcome all of the hurt and stress in our lives.

It's Just Not Fair
The ominous gray clouds weeping huge tears reflected the pain and sadness of the day today. As I sorted through my dark colored clothing options it was all I could do to keep myself together and not copy the gray clouds. I held it together while driving, parking and walking under the black awning. Seeing a familiar face with tears pouring down her face made me shake a little and after signing the guest book my eyes caught a box, with a pink fabric covering it. This combined with a couple walking into the room, holding and supporting each other as they moved towards the little pink box was too much for me.
It's just not fair.
A beautiful little girl was never given the opportunity to take a breath of air, to fill her lungs with oxygen. Never given the chance to open her eyes and see the light of the world. Her heart was never given the chance to take that first pulse on its own.
It's just not fair.
She brought her parents so much joy in her short life. The picture set next to the smallest casket I have ever seen showed her precious little nose and sweet little cheeks. She was just so beautiful, so small and so perfect.
It's just not fair.
I woke up this afternoon and since the moment I picked Munchkie up have held her, hugged her and kissed her. I am reminded of how blessed I am. Not one moment of life can be taken for granted. When Munchkie said "I wuv oo Mama" without me saying it first my heart almost pounded out of my chest. I will never again take for granted a moment I have with my family. I will never feel guilty again for walking into Munchkie's room at night just to watch her sleep. I will hug her close and breath in the scent of her hair every chance I get.

Two Going on Tween
With all the change that is happening in our lives it feels like things are moving so fast. I feel like my life is rapidly changing and evolving into something unrecognizable. I am overcome with all kinds of emotions every day. The array of emotions include fear, excitement, anxiety, sadness, anticipation, and stress. Tonight I was watching TV and there was a commercial for Mother's Day and I actually had to choke back tears. There was a teenager in the commercial and I had visions of my little Munchkie as a teenager. It feels like life is moving so fast that this day will come much sooner than I would like. Each day Munchkie is expressing more of an attitude and temper tantrums that really show she's no longer my little baby. This is such a difficult realization. I know that I am being a little overly dramatic about her being a teenager soon, but things are moving fast. I just love my Munchkie so much and even though each day seems better than the last, I don't want the days to fly.
How do you savor each moment? How do you prevent the days, months and years from flying by?

A Day in the Life
I wrote most of this in the car on the way to my inlaws for Easter. I thought I would share a day in the life of Munchkie's Mama. And then I wonder why I'm tired.....
4:45am Alarm goes off, press snooze
4:47am Feel guilty for pressing snooze, so put glasses on.
4:50am Get out of bed and go downstairs
4:55am Take preassembled French toast casserole out of fridge, mush up defrosted fruit and put on top and sprinkle crumb topping over. Put in the oven.
5:05am Go back upstairs to Munchkie’s room and administer nebulizer treatment.
5:15am Put on exercise clothes and get DVD ready to go.
5:17am Put scrubs in dryer on wrinkle release setting because they were wadded up in the bottom of a laundry basket.
5:20am Begin torture aka Jillian’s 30 day shred.
5:35am Pull casserole from oven, resume work out.
5:55am Dripping in sweat, grab apple and quickly eat while getting ready for shower.
6:05am Take shower, dry hair, get ready.
6:32am Finish packing suitcase for Munchkie and I.
6:3 5am Run upstairs, flip lights on to wake Munchkie’s Daddy up and yell, “I’m late I’m really late get up get up get up!”
6:37am Come back downstairs, grab lunch, put on scrubs, sweep bathroom and kitchen for anything missed or left behind.
6:39am Put shoes and jacket on.
6:41am Dash out door with casserole, work bag, and tote with change of clothes.
6:58am Arrive to work and make it upstairs as fast as I can.
7:01am Swipe into work one minute late.
8:32am Have already realized that I forgot something, call Munchkie’s Daddy.
12:45pm Sit to eat a salad.
2:10pm Call Munchkie’s Daddy to see how things are going.
6:23pm Realize that I told Munchkie’s Daddy to bring the eggs, but not the egg decorating kit. He says he’s already got it.
7:33pm Get out of work, change clothes and walk out.
7:38pm Do some slight rearranging of car to fit self and more stuff into the car that already has two adults, two dogs, one toddler, two suitcases, three Easter baskets, Easter basket contents, medical supplies for the wheezing toddler, and several storage tubs to store at inlaws.
7:39pm Insert “Elmo’s Potty Time” into DVD player.
7:40pm Ask Munchkie’s Daddy about everything you can think of that might have been missed.
7:49pm Resort to fast food for dinner because there aren’t many options.
8:35pm Give Munchkie blanket, doll and Elmo and say it’s night night time.
8:53pm Realize that the Easter dress your mother in law made is hanging on the back of Munchkie’s bedroom door.
8:57pm Call work to laugh about it, because what else can you do.
9:01pm Tell Munchkie she’s not funny and that it’s night night time.
9:03pm Explain to Munchkie that we can’t go home yet to go night night because we have to go see Nana and Grandpa.
9:04pm Explain to Munchkie that her Uncle is away at college and will not be there.
9:10pm Tell Munchkie it’s night night time.
9:13pm Put pillow inbetween driver and passenger seat to form a wall.
9:15pm Tell Munchkie to go night night.
9:17pm Realize that Munchkie is dripping in sweat in her fleece pjs.
9:18pm Turn on cold air and start shivering.
9:20pm Begin to ignore Munchkie.
9:45pm Search gps for area stores.
10:08pm Arrive at Walmart.
10:16pm Try to hold back tears when there are no dresses to be found.
10:17pm Find dress on way out of store and figure out which is the lesser of the evils while envisioning the beautiful pink and white checked dress hand made with love.
10:18pm Join what seems to be one of many never ending lines.
10:34 Listen as the cashier states “You would think people didn’t realize that stores were open tomorrow” and reply “Well my excuse is that 2 hours into our trip to my inlaws we realized that my daughter’s Easter dress my mother in law made is sitting at home” then have cashier say “What is your problem mom can’t get things together?” Tell cashier “My problem is that I woke up before 5am, worked all day until 7:30pm and then started on the road” Cashier replies ”Ok, well you probably should have gotten it ready for your husband ahead of time.”
10:36pm Finally get out of Walmart feeling like the worst mom ever and resume travels.
11:25pm Soothe a crying Munchkie back to sleep.
11:55pm Soothe a crying Munchkie back to sleep.
12:24am Soothe a coughing, crying Munchkie back to sleep.
12:49am Tell Munchkie that it’s ok, we’re almost there the neb treatment is coming soon.
12:58am Arrive to inlaws. Run inside, set up neb machine.
1:03am Administer neb to a very cranky and sleepy Munchkie.
1:17am Literally fall into bed.
6:15am Alarm goes off, wake up and shower.
Happy Easter

Goooodbyyyyyye Diapers....... I hope!
Last week when Munchkie's Daddy and Munchkie came to pick me up from work Munchkie's Daddy was telling me about how Munchkie had pooped in her diaper that morning. So I said to her "Munchkie why did you poop in your pants?" to which she responded while shrugging her shoulders "diapy on." At that moment I knew that there was no need for diapers anymore. Munchkie was perfectly capable of using the potty, but knew that she could be lazy and go in her diaper, so she did. At home we had been trying to use undies, but at daycare we were sending her in diapers because I was afraid she would have too many accidents. They finally told me that I needed to stop confusing her, that they are called accidents for a reason. So, we sent her in underwear on Thursday. I have at least 5 pairs of underwear, 6-7 outfits and 7+ pairs of socks in her bin at daycare, just in case, as required. But I was still quite nervous. And GUESS WHAT! She came home in the exact same pair of underwear and pants that we sent her in! I was so excited and so proud of her.
Today, I had several errands to run, but knew that I couldn't confuse her with diapers again. I decided to be prepared and go with the understanding that my plans might change very quickly. We first had to go to Target after dropping Munchkie's Daddy off at work. Two stops to the potty there, with no results, but we left dry, so that was ok. At Target I purchased a "piddle pad" for her car seat. I've learned several times what a pain taking apart that carseat is! A waterproof pad couldn't hurt right?
During our parent-teacher conferences (yes, for our 2 year old), Munchkie's teacher said that it's a good idea to keep a potty in your car for times that there isn't a bathroom available or the public bathroom option is scaaaaary. We obviously followed the experienced teacher's suggestion and put a small potty in the back of our car.
Today I got it all ready for our day of activities. I have a small bucket of extra undies and a bucket of extra pants. A waterproof mat and the toilet all set up. I also have a package of wipes specifically for the car. The best part is, we didn't even have to use it! Yay! We went through our entire day without any accidents!
Munchkie even said one time when we were just approaching the frozen food aisle "potty time Mama." So I of course raced to the customer service to leave my cart, raced to the bathroom and came out of the experience with dry pants.
Now, I am completely expecting accidents to happen. But I think that we have an underwear wearing toddler on our hands now. I am so proud of her and so glad to be close to ditching the diapers. I know we haven't been as dedicated to the potty training as we should have been probably, but it seems that now Munchkie is really ready. She can tell when she has to go, and almost every time we put her on the potty she does go. Sometimes we hear "too working!" which translates, "it's not working," and so we give her something to drink and try again in a little while.
We also started using the sticker chart because I have found stickers all over our house in all kinds of inappropriate places. On walls, washed onto shirts, on pieces of furniture and in coffee cups. I hope that soon we will have this whole chart filled.
Anyone have any additional tips for potty training? Since we are just winging this and trying to figure it out for ourselves, any advice is MUCH appreciated!

Aquarium Day....... Again....
I have been reading a book that my good friend sent me "I Don't Know How She Does it" by Allison Pearson and while I can relate to a lot of what is happening in the book, it also makes me feel so much better that maybe I do hold my life together. I have laughed quite a bit in understanding of the situations and feel like there is finally a book I can relate to while being a working mom. The pure exhaustion, intense guilt of going to work and desire to "make up" for the time spent away from family. The book makes me feel legitimized in my feelings and helps me know that I am not the only mother who both loves and hates her job at the same time. I hate to go because it's so hard to leave but when I'm there I love what I do. Still, I think of the sacrifices that could be made to stay at home, not leaving my daughter in the care and control of someone else.
In the book the main character, Kate Reddy, talks about what an awesome responsibility parenthood is. She says that YOU decide what to teach your kids. It's up to YOU to help them form their beliefs, morals and ways of life. What you say, your children believe and your life is an example to them. She talks about how hard it is to not want your kids to drink juice, but then you aren't there every day to enforce these rules, someone else, that you are paying to grow close to your child, is the one who decides how the rules are followed through.
Now all this to say that I have been overly sensitive lately about having to go to work and leave my daughter in the care of people whom I barely know. I am giving them my daughter and my hard earned money. Something seems slightly wrong about this. So in my guilt, I have been trying to do fun things with Munchkie on my days off. We have gone to the aquarium weekly for a couple of months now because she loves it so much. We went to get our car washed several times in the last couple months just for fun, and I let her walk along beside me in Target because I want the time we spend together to be happy memories for both of us.
This week when we were at the aquarium I noticed (and obviously was bothered by it, or I wouldn't be blogging) that the other moms were giving me this look. We go first thing in the morning, just minutes after the aquarium opens, on a weekday when there aren't many people there. The moms look at me and give me this look. The only way I know how to describe it is "Aren't you just so glad that we get to stay home and do things with our kids? We are providing so much more to them by staying home and enriching their lives with outings such as the aquarium." I really am not imagining these looks. At first I thought I was just crazy, but then I realized that every single mom gave me that look. And the two dads that were there with their children had almost guilty looks on their faces. Probably similar to what I was feeling, the "I work so much and spend so little time with my children that I take them to places like the aquarium so we can have a good time together and talk about it for several days afterword while I continue to work and not be home." I wanted to punch these moms in the face and tell them that they have no idea.
While Munchkie and I were at the children's touch and explore tank, feeling sea stars and crabs, there were three moms, with their kids running around uncontrolled, talking. I overheard their conversation and had to roll my eyes. They were discussing the academies they were applying to get their kids into. The one mom asked if they had been to visit a certain academy and the responding mom waved a hand in the direction of a crazy young boy running around saying "well I don't know if we would be able to get in because we have to work on such and such." The boy couldn't even talk yet. Seriously? You spend your days discussing what you have to work on with your preverbal toddler to get them into an academy so they can be ivy league material?
This reminded me that there are many positives about the life we live. Munchkie goes to a daycare where she is surrounded by kids of many different backgrounds and ethnicities. She is learning to work well with others, use manners, share, respect those around her and look up to children older than her. She is well loved and knows that Mommy and Daddy can relax and have fun with her. We both work and she sees that working is a necessary part of life. Munchkie understands that household chores are shared by both Mommy and Daddy. She knows that she does not get everything she asks for and that she needs to work to achieve her goals.
While it still kills me to go to work, I also know that we have our priorities straight.

The Stress of Uncertainty
I don't deal well with uncertainty. I don't like when I don't know what's going to happen, whether it be plans for a weekend or the next five years of my life. I have been trying very hard to calm myself down and not allow myself to get caught up in the stress of not knowing, but it is very difficult. Our lives are in such an unstable place right now that it is wracking havoc on my ability to be in control. Throughout the entire application process for PHD programs I have chanted "God has a plan, God has a plan" to remind myself that sometimes I am not always the one in control. However, when the decisions started pouring in, and they weren't the decisions that I had planned on, it wasn't easy.
After several days of hardly getting a word out without crying, I am finally at a point where I can go about my daily business without Munchkie coming up and putting a hand on me saying "Mommy ok? No crying Mama." She is so sweet! While our future is still completely up in the air and we have quite a few difficult decisions to make in the upcoming months, I have to remind myself that "God has a plan" and so I need to move on and pray that we can make the best decisions based on what his plan is. We didn't plan on Munchkie, but what an AMAZING blessing she has been in our lives. I can only hope and pray that we continue to be bestowed with more blessings as amazing as she (without there being more kids involved, haha).
I found the lyrics to this hymn tonight and it really spoke to me.
I Know Who Holds The Future
~Ira Forest Stamphill
I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from it's sunshine,
For it's skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.
Ev'ry step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter;
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eyes,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.
I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the One Who feeds the sparrow,
Is the One Who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood.
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Lenten Sacrifice
With each year that passes the season of Lent becomes more meaningful to me. Throughout the year I find that I am making sacrifices for a variety of reasons. Some are selfish, some out of necessity and some because I'm a wife and mother. Each year there is a period of time in our lives that demand us to spend some serious time focusing on sacrifice and bettering yourself in a way that is different than the time of resolution making for the New Year. I realize each year how important it is to have this designated period of time to focus on how I can become a better and stronger individual, wife, mother, family member and friend.
I recently read this article from KitchenStewardship.com and it made me start thinking even more about the importance of the preparation for Lent. I did a quick google search which of course took me to the most reliable source, Wikipedia. So naturally that's where I decided to get my basic Lent information from. The time of Lent is in remembrance of the 40 days the Jesus spent in the desert alone. For this time he fasted for the forty days and was tempted by Satan three times. While he was tempted he was able to prevail against the devil by using scripture as his arguments.
So this means to me that I need to focus for these forty days on several things. I need to figure out what is something I depend on that would be a difficult sacrifice for me to make. I need to examine my life and find what consumes my idle time, keeping me from becoming a better person and christian. Then I need to focus strengthening my relationship with this man who made so many sacrifices for me (and I don't mean my husband or father).
After much examination I have determined my plan of attack for this season of Lent.

- I will be giving up sweets because this is something that I crave and feel like I "have to have." I have given up sweets each year but I also struggle with it each year because I am tempted every time desert crosses my path during these forty days.
- Munchkies Daddy and I have decided to give up TV. We know that we spend a lot of time wasted in front of the television and want to find other valuable, productive ways to spend our time.
- During this time I am also going to spend time daily in prayer and devotion. I find time daily to waste time online, in front of the TV or doing who knows what. I want to spend some of that wasted time studying the Bible so that I can have the strength to get through difficult times in life.
Some days are just plain hard
Today was one of those busy days at work. At the time I was supposed to be getting off they were short staffed and so I decided to stay an extra few hours to get a little bit of extra money. Munchkie's Nana and Aunt are here visiting and so we didn't have to wake Munchkie to take me to work this morning or keep her awake to pick me up. Even if I had miraculously left work on time I still wouldn't have been able to see her or spend time with her today. If I'm not going to spend time with her, I might as well make money right?
So after 16+ hours of work I'm tired, hungry and ready for bed. On top of all that, I also am trying to resist the urge to scoop Munchkie out of her pack and play and snuggle with her in my bed. I know Munchkie's Daddy would not be ok with that at all! There's an aching in my heart and I just want to hold her. I can't wait to see her smiling face tomorrow. I can't wait to get hugs and kisses. While there are hard days, there's always something to look forward to to help you get through them. I am going to go to bed that way I can see that smile sooner and feel those hugs and kisses sooner.

Monday
Nakey Baby
I'm not in the best of moods this morning. Not a lot has gone right in the last week or so.
First my computer died last week. You press the power button and the power button lights up for 3 seconds, nothing happens and then the light goes off. Cool. For someone with a computer/internet addiction, this has been difficult to say the least.
Then just two days later I woke up, went downstairs, turned the water on to brush my teeth. A trickle came out and then nothing. After multiple times turning all of the different faucets on and off, I realized that it was true, we had no water. This continued for four days. Four days without running water. Nothing like no running water for you to realize that constant internet access is not a basic necessity of life. Running water however, is. At least there was a lot of snow outside, we melted snow on the stove in our lobster pot and then used that to flush the toilet, give the dogs water, etc. I decided that simple living is not all that it is cracked up to be, at least not for me. I enjoy taking a shower, having clean clothes and washing my dishes in a dishwasher. The return of running water after literally shocking the frozen pipe with a pipe defibrillator was a very happy day.
Today another disastrous thing happened in our life. I actually think I might rank it almost as high as having no running water. This is how I was greeted with this sunny Monday morning.
I heard Munchkie awake and calling out so I went into her room. (Background: Because we are not morning people, we have been getting out of bed, handing her a couple books, and going back into our nice warm bed. She has enjoyed this, reading quietly in her crib for sometimes over an hour. In fact, the mornings that we have to go somewhere she is usually crying for books as we are getting her ready.) I hadn't put my glasses on and so couldn't actually see anything. I walked into her room, grabbed a few books, and turned around to hand them to Munchkie. In my extremely blurred vision I could tell something wasn't right. I said "this cannot be happening" and ran into my room to get my glasses. Munchkie Daddy said "what is going on?" I replied, "I need my glasses because I don't believe what I think I just saw."
After rushing back into Munchkie's room I realized that the terrible image I had barely seen was even worse with clear vision.
Munchkie had unzipped and pulled off her pajamas. She was then working on her diaper and it was only attached on one side. Apparently this morning Munchkie woke up and decided that she knew how to use a zipper and remove clothes. How can this be happening to us?
I then was in the kitchen making some breakfast when Munchkie came walking into the kitchen, pjs off to her ankles and dragging behind her. Diaper off and in her hand. Unbelievable. She did this yet another time, this time walking around with nothing but the rice paper liner from her cloth diaper stuck to her leg before I took the nakey baby upstairs and got her dressed for the day.
What are we going to do now? I am so fearful that we are now going to wake up to a complete mess every morning. Because Munchkie's Daddy doesn't like buttons, almost every single pair of pajamas are zippered. That way it's easier for Munchkie's Daddy to put on, and now easier for Munchkie to pull off. Fantastic.

Tears Fall
Tears fall today for another precious child taken to Heaven. Who knew that such a small body with such a short life could change hearts and lives. Although we think this life was taken too soon, there are no more owies, no more tubes, no more wires, no more sleepless nights, and no more crying. How wonderful to have a perfect body, pain free, and to be able to do the things you could never do. Heaven is a better place for you, precious little baby, but earth is a much sadder place now that you're gone.
Please keep in your thoughts and prayers the parents whose children are taken from them to dance with the angels in heaven.
These are the parts of my job that I don't love.
